Grid Pros / Quick guide
New home or EV?
Make room for what comes next.
STEP 1 / 3
Start with the home.
Check roof age, shade and any existing solar agreement. A previous owner's power use may not match yours.
Ask who owns existing equipment and whether a loan, lease or warranty transfers to you.
Read all three steps
Start with the home.
Check roof age, shade and any existing solar agreement. A previous owner's power use may not match yours.
Ask who owns existing equipment and whether a loan, lease or warranty transfers to you.
Plan your charging.
Note how far you drive, when you charge and your utility's time-based rates. EV charging adds power use; an EV charger is not home backup.
Bidirectional backup needs a compatible vehicle, charger and home system. Do not assume your EV supports it.
Check before adding equipment.
Have a qualified professional review the electrical panel, circuit needs and any upgrade. Share plans for AC, a heat pump or more drivers.
Bring roof details, recent bills if available, and your vehicle and charger information to your consultation.
